ကိုရီးယားလူမျိုးများသည် အဓိကအားဖြင့် ကိုရီးယားနိုင်ငံနှစ်ခု တွင် နေထိုင်ကြသည်- မြောက်ကိုရီးယား နှင့် တောင်ကိုရီးယား (စုပေါင်း၍ ရိုးရိုး ကိုရီးယားဟု ခေါ်ဆိုသည်)။ ၎င်းတို့သည် အခြား အာရှနိုင်ငံများ တွင် တရားဝင်အသိအမှတ်ပြုထားသော လူမျိုးစုများဖြစ်သည်။ ၂၀ ရာစုတစ်လျှောက်တွင် ကိုရီးယားအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းများသည် အမေရိကတိုက် (အထူးသဖြင့် အမေရိကန်ပြည်ထောင်စု နှင့် ကနေဒါ တို့တွင်) နှင့် အိုရှန်းနီးယား တို့တွင်လည်း ပေါ်ပေါက်လာခဲ့သည်။
