K2-18 သည် လီယို ကြယ်စုတန်းရှိ ကြယ်ပုနီဖြစ်ပြီး ကမ္ဘာမြေမှ ၁၂၄ အလင်းနှစ် (၃၈ parsec) ကွာဝေးသည်။ ယင်းကြယ်၌ K2-18b ဟုခေါ်သော နေစကြဝဠာပြင်ပဂြိုဟ်တစ်စင်းတည်ရှိပြီး K2-18 ၏ သက်ရှိများရှင်သန်နိုင်သောဇုန်အတွင်း တည်ရှိသည်။[၇][၈] ယင်းသည် လေထုအတွင်း ရေတည်ရှိသည်ဟု ပထမဆုံးအကြိမ် ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိသည့် exoplanet တစ်စင်းဖြစ်ကာ ကြယ်၌ K2-18c ဟုခေါ်သော ဒုတိယမြောက်ဂြိုဟ်လည်း တည်ရှိသည်။[၉]
