Windows Server 2008 (အတိုကောက် "Win2K8"[၄] "WinServer2K8" "Windows 2008" သို့မဟုတ် "W2K8") သည် မိုက်ခရိုဆော့ဖ်၏ ဆာဗာ ကွန်ပျူတာ စက်လည်ပတ်ရေးစနစ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး ၂၀၀၈ ခုနှစ် ဖေဖော်ဝါရီလ ၄ ရက်နေ့တွင် release လုပ်ခဲ့သည်။ ယခင် Windows Server 2003 အား ထုတ်လုပ်ခဲ့အပြီး ၅ နှစ်အကြာမှ release လုပ်ခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ကာ ၂၀၀၉ ခုနှစ် ဇူလိုင် ၂၂ တွင် Windows Server 2008 R2 အား ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ထပ်မံ release လုပ်ခဲ့သည်။[၅] မူလတွင် မိုက်ခရိုဆော့ဖ်၏ ဥက္ကဋ္ဌ ဘေလ်ဂိတ်မှ codename အား Longhorn ဟု သတ်မှတ်ခဲ့သည်။[၆] ၂၀၀၅ ခုနှစ် ဇူလိုင် ၂၇ တွင် Beta 1 အား ထုတ်ပြန်ကြေညာခဲ့ပြီး ၂၀၀၇ ခုနှစ် ဧပြီ ၂၅ တွင် Beta 3 အား ထုတ်ပြန်ခဲ့သည်။[၇] Windows Server 2008 အား x86 x64 ဟူသော edition များဖြင့် မိုက်ခရိုဆော့ဖ်မှ ထုတ်လုပ်ခဲ့သည်။ သို့သော် မိုက်ခရိုဆော့ဖ်မှ Windows Server 2008 သည် 32-bit ဖြင့်ထုတ်လုပ်သည့် ဝင်းဒိုး ဆာဗာများတွင် နောက်ဆုံး Edition ဟု ကြေညာခဲ့သည်။[၈]
