သောမာဝသိယစေတီတော် (သီဟိုဠ်: සෝමාවතිය චෛත්‍ය, တမီးလ်: சோமாவதிய சைத்யா)သည် သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံ၊ ပေါဠောန္နရုဝမြို့ (Polonnaruwa) တွင်တည်ရှိသည့် ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာစေတီတော်တစ်ဆူ ဖြစ်သည်။^[၂] စေတီတော်၏ ဘွဲ့တော်မှာ “သောမာဝသိယရာဇမဟာဝိဟာရ” ဖြစ်သည်။^[၃]^[၄]

စေတီတော်သည် မဟာဝေလီမြစ် (Mahaweli) မြစ်၏ ဘယ်ဘက်ကမ်း သောမာဝသိယအမျိုးသားဥယျာဉ်အတွင်းတွင် တည်ရှိသည်။^[၅]^[၆] စေတီတော်ကို ဒုဋ္ဌဂါမဏိမင်းသည် မြတ်စွာဘုရား၏ သွားဓာတ်တော်ကို ဌာပနာခြင်း မပြုမီအချိန်ကပင် တည်ခဲ့သည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ရသည်။ စေတီတော်ကို ဒုဋ္ဌဂါမဏိမင်း၏ ဖမည်းတော်ဖြစ်သူ ကာဝန္တိဿမင်းက တည်ခဲ့သည်ဟု မှတ်ယူနိုင်သည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် ဤစေတီတော်သည် မဟာစေတီတော်၊ မိရိသဝေဋိယဝိဟာရ၊ ဇေတဝနရာမ (Jetavanaramaya) စသည်တို့ထက် ပို၍ ရှေးကျသည်။
