မယ်လတိုနင် (အင်္ဂလိပ်: melatonin) သည် တိရစ္ဆာန်အပင်နှင့် အဏုဇီဝကောင် (microbe) တို့တွင် တွေ့ရသော ဟော်မုန်းတမျိုး ဖြစ်သည်။ [၁][၂][၃] တိရစ္ဆာန်တို့တွင် တနေ့တာအတွင်းရှိသော မယ်လတိုနင်ပမာဏသည် အတိုးအလျော့ရှိ၏။ မယ်လတိုနင်သည် ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာ၏ တနေ့တာ ဇီဝဆိုင်ရာလုပ်ဆောင်ချက်တို့ကို ထိန်းကျောင်းသည်။ [၄]

မယ်လတိုနင်ကို သွေး-ဦးနှောက်ခြားအကန့် (blood-brain barrier) အပြင်ဘက်ရှိ ပိုင်နီယယ်အရည်အိတ်မှ ထုတ်ပေးကာ သွေးထဲသို့ ပို့သည်။ [၅] သွေးထဲရောက်လာသော မယ်လတိုနင်သည် ဓာတ်တိုးဆန့်ကျင်ပစ္စည်းတမျိုး (anti-oxidant) ဖြစ်သည့်အတွက် မယ်လတိုနင်အာရုံရင်း (melatonin receptor) မှ ချက်ချင်း လက်ခံဆောင်ရွက်သည်။ [၆][၇]
