ဒေါင့်သန်းရောဂါသည် ဘတ်ဆယ်လတ် အန်သရပ်စစ် (Bacillus anthracis)ဟူသော ဘတ်တီရီးယားပိုးကြောင့် ဖြစ်ပွားသော ကူးစက်ရောဂါဖြစ်သည်။ ဒေါင့်သန်းရောဂါသည် အသွင်လေးမျိုးဖြင့် ဖြစ်ပွားလေ့ရှိပြီး အရေပြား၊ အဆုတ်၊ အူလမ်းကြောင်း နှင့် ဆေးထိုးခြင်းဒေါင့်သန်း တို့ဖြစ်သည်။ ရောဂါပိုးကူးစက်ခံရပြီး တစ်ရက်မှ နှစ်လကျော်အတွင်း ရောဂါလက္ခဏာပြလေ့ရှိသည်။
