ကနစိုပင်သည် မျိုးရင်း Malvaceae ရှိ ဒီရေတောအပင်မျိုးဖြစ်သည်။ ဘင်္ဂလားဒေခ်ျနိုင်ငံ၊ အိန္ဒိယနိုင်ငံတို့တွင် အဓိကပေါက်ရောက်သည့် လမုတောပင်တခုဖြစ်ပြီး သစ်ပင် ၇၀ ရာခိုင်နှုန်းခန့်ကို ကနစိုပင်က လွှမ်းမိုးထားသည်။[၃] ကနစိုပင်အား အလွန်အကျွံ သစ်သားထုတ်ယူသုံးစွဲမှုများကြောင့် နိုင်ငံတကာ သဘာဝထိန်းသိမ်းရေးအဖွဲ့က မျိုးသုဉ်းရန် အန္တရာယ်ရှိသောမျိုးစိတ်အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ထားသည်။
