English: View on the Coherent ODIN titan-sapphire ultrashort pulse amplifier in the Physical institute, CAS, Prague.
The intense green pump beam (faintly visible in the air) comes from left, supplied by Nd:YAG laser (Pavg = 10 W) and passes twice through the Ti:sapphire crystal, which is placed in a Peltier- and water-cooled holder.
The seed pulse is created in a mode-locked laser Mira, becomes chirped through pulse stretcher (optics hidden behind the amplifier) and pases 8 times the cycle consisting of the Ti:sapphire crystal, two little mirrors on the left and right, a big mirror in front of the crystal and 8-holes spatial filter right of the mirror.
The averaged output power is 1 W in approx. 70 fs pulses @ 1 kHz. The wavelenght of Ti:sapphire laser covers a broad range near 800 nm.
