Wubi (Windows-based Ubuntu Installer) ဆိုတာကတော့ Ubuntu အတွက် Windows-base Free software installer ဖြစ်ပြီး GPL licensed အောက်မှာ ထားရှိပါတယ်။ Wubi ဟာ 7.04 နှင့် 7.10 မှ စတင်ပေါက်ဖွားလာပြီ ထုတ်ဝေခြင်းမရှိသေးပါဘူး။ သို့သော်လည်းပဲ 8.04 မှာပါဝင်လာခဲ့ပြီး 8.04 alpha5 ကတည်းက ပေါင်းထည့်ထားခဲ့ပါတယ်။ Wubi ဟာ Ubuntu Live CD ထဲမှာလည်း တွေ့နိုင်ပါတယ်။ နောက်ပြီး Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Gibbon ထုတ်ဝေမှုအသစ်တွေမှာလည်း တွေ့ရှိနိုင်ပါတယ်။ အဓိကရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကတော့ Windows user တွေအနေနဲ့ Ubuntu Linux အမျိုးအစားကို လွယ်လွယ်ကူကူ သုံးစွဲစေချင်ပြီး Disk formatting လုပ်ရတာ ဒါမှမဟုတ် Disk partitioning ခွဲရတာတွေကို သက်သာစေချင်လို့ပါ။ Wubi ဟာ Windows ရဲ့ Add or Remove Program ကနေ ပြန်ပြီးတော့လည်းuninstall လုပ်နိုင်ပါသေးတယ်။ ဒါဟာ Virutal machine လည်းမဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ သို့သော်လည်းပဲ သူဟာ stand-alone installtaion ဖြစ်ပြီး လူသိများတဲ့ disk image လို့ခေါ်တဲ့ loopmounted device ဖန်တီးထားလိုက်ပါတယ်။ Topologilinux နဲ့ဆင်ပါတယ်။ သို့သော်လည်းပဲ wubi ဟာ Linux distribution အတွက်မဟုတ်ပဲ Ubuntu အတွက်သာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
